Inle Lake festival – 12 Oct to 29 Oct 2026

This year, Inle Lake festival, also known as Phaung Daw Oo festival, will be held from 12 Oct to 29 Oct 2026. For more than 2 weeks, sacred Buddha images will be transported between villages on a royal barge. the highlights of the festival will be on 12 Oct to 29 Oct 2026!

On 18 October, the royal barge will pass in front of Thanakha Inle Hotel, accompanied by hundreds of boats and pilgrims. And there will be boat races, with racers rowing with their legs, a tradition of the area.

On 29 November, Buddha images will return to the Phaung Daw Oo pagoda, and there will be boat races again.
